How much does Agentforce cost, what is a Flex Credit, do credits roll over, is Coworker free, and what happens when the pool runs out. Twenty of the pricing questions people search, answered in plain words from Salesforce's published pages as of September 20, 2026, with the parts Salesforce has not priced marked as unpriced.
Agentforce pricing has changed shape three times in two years, and Dreamforce added two products with no price at all. So the same question, how much does it cost, now has a different answer depending on which month’s slide you read.
This page collects the questions I get asked most and answers each from Salesforce’s published pages as of September 20, 2026. Where a number is not published, the answer says so. For the mechanics in depth, the Flex Credits post and the editions post go further than this page will.
The units
How much does Agentforce cost?
There is no single number. You pay for an edition per user per month, which now includes a pool of Flex Credits, and then for consumption when agents act beyond that pool. The official pricing page lists the units. A realistic year-one figure comes from your own action counts, not the rate card.
What is a Flex Credit?
The consumption unit for agent work. A pack of 100,000 Flex Credits lists at $500, so a credit is half a cent. Credits are consumed per action the agent performs.
What does one agent action cost?
A standard action consumes 20 credits, about $0.10 at list. A voice action consumes 30, about $0.15. Salesforce’s own worked examples on the pricing page run an order-status request at two actions, a case assist at three and a field-service scheduling flow at five. Measure your own, because a knowledge answer and a booking flow are not the same number.
What is the difference between conversations and Flex Credits?
Two meters for the same agent. The conversation meter charges a flat $2 per customer engagement regardless of what the agent did. The credit meter charges per action. An org picks one consumption model and can switch by swapping SKUs, but cannot run both at once. The Flex Credits post has the detail.
Which is cheaper, conversations or credits?
Below about 20 standard actions per conversation, credits are cheaper. Above it, the flat conversation rate wins. For voice, at 30 credits per action, the crossover drops to roughly 13. Most customer-facing agents I see sit well under 20, which is why the credit meter is the usual answer.
The editions
What do Core, Advanced and Max include?
As of September 3, 2026, Salesforce sells three editions: Core at $195, Advanced at $395 and Max at $550 per user per month, billed annually, with 500,000, 1 million and 2.75 million Flex Credits included respectively. Every tier bundles Agentforce, Slack, Tableau Next, enterprise security and the Premier Success Plan.
Which edition replaces the one I have?
Core replaces Enterprise Edition, Advanced replaces Unlimited, and Max replaces the Agentforce 1 Edition. Salesforce describes it as a multi-year transition rather than a migration, and the legacy editions still appear in its documentation.
How far do the included credits go?
At 20 credits per standard action and five actions per interaction, Core’s pool covers roughly 25,000 interactions per term, Advanced’s about 50,000 and Max’s about 137,000. Those are illustrative. The editions post walks the arithmetic, and the number that matters is your measured actions per interaction.
Are the old per-user Agentforce add-ons still sold?
The $125 per-user add-on and the Agentforce 1 Edition were the structure before September 3. Agentforce is now bundled into every edition and metered through the included credits. Whether a legacy add-on is still quotable for an existing contract is a question for your account team, and the answer may differ by renewal date.
Running out, rolling over, and reducing
Do unused Flex Credits roll over?
On the pre-purchase structures, generally not. Over-provisioning is money gone at the end of the term. Confirm the term in your own order form, because contract structures vary.
What happens when my credits run out?
Consumption keeps billing. You either buy a top-up pack, listed at around $500 per 100,000 credits, or run the meter in arrears, depending on your agreement. Under-sizing shows up as unplanned mid-term spend rather than a hard stop. Turn on Digital Wallet’s threshold alerts before launch so you see it coming.
Does voice cost more?
Yes. A voice action is 30 credits against 20 for a standard action, so a voice-heavy agent burns credits half again as fast. The voice post covers where the minutes go.
Does Data 360 cost extra?
Data 360 runs on its own credit pool with its own rate card. Ingesting data through the Salesforce CRM connector consumes no credits, but unification, queries, activation and the knowledge indexing that grounds an agent do. The Flex Credits post totals the lines the pricing page leaves off.
How do I reduce credit burn?
Fewer actions per interaction. Chunk knowledge so retrieval returns fewer, tighter results, use deterministic filters and variables instead of extra reasoning actions, and keep voice for the intents where it earns the premium. The optimisation playbook has the full list.
How do I forecast Agentforce cost?
Run a pilot on the free credits, measure actions per interaction by intent, multiply by projected volume, and add the Data 360 and integration lines. Present every volume as an assumption with a sensitivity. The ROI calculator does the arithmetic interactively.
The free and the unpriced
Can I get Agentforce for free?
Partly. Salesforce Foundations is a $0 SKU for Enterprise Edition and above that includes 200,000 Flex Credits and 250,000 Data 360 credits, enough for a real pilot. The Foundations post covers what you get and the one setting you cannot undo.
Is Agentforce Coworker free?
Coworker is available to all customers since Dreamforce, and the Max edition includes unmetered Coworker access per rep. On other editions, whether it consumes credits depends on a permission-set decision the admin makes at setup. The Coworker post explains which setting decides it.
Is Builder Central free?
Yes. Salesforce says Builder Central is included in every org at no charge, gated by a permission set, with usage limits it describes as reasonable. The beta starts the week of September 21, 2026.
Does Setup with Agentforce use credits?
Salesforce’s admin coverage describes setup actions as non-billable, and Agentforce for Flow drafts flows without consuming AI credits. I would still confirm in Digital Wallet after the first week, because credit treatment is exactly the kind of detail that changes between releases.
What is pay-per-resolution?
A third meter, used by Agentforce Help Agent: $2 per resolution, nothing when the agent fails or escalates. The definition of a resolution is the whole contract. The Help Agent post covers the accuracy gap and how to model it.
How much does Salesforce in Claude cost?
No price has been published. The clearest description so far is that consumption runs on two meters, Salesforce API calls against your org’s entitlement and Anthropic tokens on your Anthropic contract. The Claudeforce questions page tracks the answer as it changes.
How much does Koa cost?
Not published. Koa is in pilot with select customers, with general availability expected in winter 2026 in US regions. Whether it is priced differently from the other models in the menu has not been said.
Can I pay for Agentforce with AWS spend commitments?
Salesforce Clouds are listed in the AWS Marketplace in 33 countries, and AWS says customers can apply spend commitments toward Salesforce products including Agentforce, per the Dreamforce AWS announcement. How a commitment counts toward a specific contract is a question for both account teams.
Understanding the basics
What is the cheapest way to try Agentforce?
Provision Salesforce Foundations on an Enterprise Edition or higher org and use the 200,000 included Flex Credits, roughly 10,000 standard actions, to run a pilot before buying anything. Measure actions per interaction during the pilot and size the edition from that number.
Is Agentforce included in Sales Cloud and Service Cloud?
Since September 3, 2026, every edition of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, Core, Advanced and Max, bundles Agentforce with a pool of Flex Credits. Usage beyond the pool is metered.
What is a Flex Agreement?
A contract structure that lets you convert user licences into Flex Credits or credits into licences as priorities change. It matters when you are unsure whether a team sits above or below the break-even for a per-user model, and it is negotiated up front.
The number that is not on the rate card
Every question above resolves to one figure Salesforce cannot give you: how many actions your agents take per interaction. Two orgs on the same edition with the same traffic can differ by a factor of three on that number, and it is a design choice, made in topic scope and action granularity, before it is a procurement fact.
